cancellation of Fiche chambalala from UNSCO

Fichee-Chambalaalla is a New Year festival celebrated among the Sidama people. Each year, astrologers determine the correct date for the festival. It is recalled that Fiche Chamballala, New Year among the Sidama people, has been registered as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. But this new year festival each year celebrated with committing attacks on other the ethnic groups who are living in Sidama zone as can be exhibited with a letter written since 1950/1957EC. The nature of celebration is too traditional and shall be avoided as it involves worshiping devil’s while they are celebrating the holiday. In similar manner Fiche Chambala celebrated this year with the expense of large number of lives and damaging property as they committed genocides of Wolaita people who are in Hawassa and around. The celebration resulted in displacing more than 10,000 people, killing more than 45 person and damaging and robbing property of this people. Victims this year are mainly Wolaita people in Hawassa and Gurage people around Hawassa (Leku, Aleta Wondo and shamena). The same thing occurred in 2011/2004EC but with minimum expense of displacement and robbery. The Festival brought a lot of devastation which is more than expressed. I was not able to up load video files while genocides being committed as it allows only 2MB. As I interviewed some friends from sidama ethnic group initially the holiday is celebrated in some tribes of sidama and when the tribe get power the expanded the holiday to the whole sidama people and it is always celebrated by murdering many others. I also recommend you to search documents related to how the real Fiche Chambalala is celebrated among the people in panic way. This is therefore to request UNSCO to reconsider the case, UNSCO should cancel fiche chambalala from the heritage.
