Say NO to the LOCATION of the Compressed Natural Gas Station

Charlotte County School Board has executed a Contract to Construct an Open to the Public, Unmanned, Compressed Natural Gas Station on School Property. The Location is directly on top of the Charlotte High School Agricultural Land Lab and directly across the street from Punta Gorda Middle School, only separated by the width of Carmalita Street.
We have voiced our opposition to the Location numerous times over the past 7 months! We object to the Location of the Compressed Natural Gas Fueling Station due to Safety Concerns with respect to the Students, Faculty and Support Staff of Punta Gorda Middle, Charlotte High and Sallie Jones Elementary Schools as well as the local residents and those who use South County Park and Carmalita Field. With the exception of the Convenience Store Verbiage, our Safety Concerns for the Students and the Residents have not been adequately addressed.
The School Board Member's passion for moving forward with the proposed location to the fueling station is clouded by financial gain. We are not against the school board saving money, we are against the location of this proposed fueling station, just as we would be against any open to the public fueling station that would be located on school property with students in close proximity.
With your help, maybe we can show the School Board that the SAFETY or our STUDENTS and our RESIDENTS is more important than the $0.085 per gallon of fuel sold!! THANK YOU!
