These fields, owned by Crown Estates, were, until recently, in use as arable fields. We are now facing the prospect of up to 220 houses plus a hotel here, in an area of open countryside and in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a myriad of wildlife housed within,including Buzzards, Sparrow Hawks and Red Kites and a natural footpath that snakes between the two fields. Will they be affordable to local, young people? What will the real impact to Marlborough be of such a vast building proposal? I believe that the impact will be great and long reaching and feel that these fields already serve a good purpose, a long term asset for a burgeoning population, that is, feeding them. Say No!
We, the undersigned, have signed this petition because we firmly believe that building on an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and in an area of good, productive arable land in the UK to be virtually criminal. This is also home to a variety of wild creatures; bordering the near Savernake Forest and their habitat destruction and intrusion by so many houses and a hotel, will leave many species to die and a tenant farmer with loss of a livelihood. Arable fields are needed to sustain a growing population; building on this land is wholly wrong.

Please, please can people from Marlborough and Wiltshire write to Wilts Council regarding this application. This can easily be done going to Wilts Council planning online and quoting the reference 15/02026/OUT. This is vital-we only have until the 19th November!

Hi to all signers in the Marlborough area - we need all of you who haven't yet written a letter of objection to WILTSHIRE COUNCIL to do so. This can be done easily online-Go to Wiltshire Council Planning and tap in reference 15/02026/OUT and then log your concerns and objections. Needs to be done by April the 9th so don't delay!
