We are submitting this petition as we feel it was unjust to let Michael Easton go from General Hospital as he is a 14 year veteran of ABC along with numerous appearances on primetime tv. Michael Easton is also celebrating 25 years in daytime television this year. He is an award winning director and has written numerous books and graphic novels.

Michael Easton is an asset to General Hospital. Mr. Easton's character, Dr. Silas Clay, started off as an essential part of the General Hospital canvas as his character is an oncologist. His character was developed with essential ties to characters and was brought on as a love interest to a major character on the soap opera which created a highly popular couple.

The character of Silas Clay slowly started to disappear from our canvas and storylines when his ties to characters and stories started to be severed out of nowhere. Mr. Easton was let go shortly before the head writer of General Hospital was replaced but the exit story for his character was already filmed and could not be changed. We do not know if this petition will help but we would like to give it our best try to help get him back on the show and have his character be given a chance to develop him more with the new headwriters as the last headwriter basically stopped writing for him.

Mr. Easton signed a new contract earlier this year and was looking forward to more time on the show until this abrupt departure. If Michael would like to return, then we hope the decision is reversed and he is offered a role on the show once more. In addition to signing the petition, please call the ABC co... more

This petition was created as a result of the decision to let Michael Easton go from General Hospital. As fans of the actor we feel it was unjust to let Michael Easton go as his character was barely seen or written for in the past year. Many are no longer watching GH due to their sadness/disappointment over the loss of Michael. We find Michael Easton to be a valuable asset to General Hospital. Michael Easton in my opinion is a classic leading man in daytime. We watch soap operas for drama, action, love, romance, heros, dark stories, adventure, etc. Michael Easton encompasses all of that and so much more. Please consider the signatures and comments that have been made in this petition to bring Michael Easton back to General Hospital. We began this petition with a goal of 1,000 signatures and have exceeded that by over 13,000 signatures. We have over 14,000 signatures and the only reason it is being closed today is we gave you a date of today. We feel if we kept it open the signatures would increase as Michael is still airing and Soaps In Depth just published their bi-weekly magazine with a new article on Michael Easton which speaks about the petition. I truly do no want to close the petition tonight as I know the numbers will continue to increase. We have raised our numbers by close to 500 on the last day alone. I do need to honor the deadline that we set though with the extension so we kept to our date to close it tonight despite the ongoing interest from fans to sign. General Hospital and Michael Easton are in our hearts. Michael Easton is a large fan favorite. Please don’t let him and his fans go to another soap opera. Please bring Michael Easton back to General Hospital. Over 14,000 people agree. Let Michael and his fans help raise your demo again!
