Get reclassified as a Simulator Technician under the DOL.

For many years, we (Simulator Technicians) have been list by the Department of Labor as "Electronics Technicians".
This is an unfortunate misnomer, because as Simulator Technicians we are required to have a much broader range of skill sets and knowledge than an Electronics Technician.

Besides knowing electronics, we are required to know; Information Technology, Information Assurance, Image Generation, Visual Systems, Display Systems, Control Loading, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.

Being classified as electronics technicians groups us with a larger less skilled group and limits our pay potential severely.

We are required to keep certifications in Information assurance and we need to constantly update our skill sets to stay current with the ever changing technology that is used in our field.

We would formally request that the Department of Labor add a new classification to the Wage Determination list of Simulator Technicians. Furthermore, We formally request that the classification be broken down into five different rankings; Simulator Technician I, Simulator Technician II, Simulator Technician III, Simulator Technician IV, Simulator Technician V.

I would welcome any questions. Feel free to contact me at your convenience.

To All,

Please read, sign and share this with your fellow technicians and friends. This is for all of us. Let us unite and make this happen.
