Shut Schools Down Due to Dangerous Blizzard Conditions

By not shutting schools down, the school boards are putting many students at risk. Many students use the Calgary transit as a means of transportation, and in the blizzard conditions that our city is facing, it puts these youths in danger of frostbite, hypothermia, and other cold injuries. For the others who transport by car, they are all at risk of getting into car accidents or being stuck. I, myself, know of many occurances that happened today, Monday December 2, where people were stuck in snow drifts and faced major difficulties getting out.

Above transportation issues, we students also face the difficult decision of missing school or being safe. In my opinion, a student should not have to decide because what is the point in educating them if, God forbid, something terrible were to happen to them. Many other students share the same opinions and they would rather be safe than sorry
