Bye bye natural habitats
Over 1000 homes being developed here within a quarter mile of each other, so many trees being removed threatening an already sensitive ecosystem.
In addition being backed up to Herring creek the 2000 homes or so in the immediate area will be subjected to a paralyzing traffic condition in an emergency with only one road out?
Particularly in an area prone to serious flooding in a disconcerting weather phenomena of late.
Disturbing traffic concerns particularly for our school kids and seniors which there are many.
Nowhere is high density permanent housing within miles and miles.
The HUD mandate Intended Workforce Housing be close to highways transportation and workplaces for the convenience of middle income workers.
Angola certainly doesn't fit this scenario,far from it.
Where is the planning and zoning here allowing anything and everyting anywhere jeopardizimg the enviornment and safety of its inhabitants.
Certainly a bizarre counter objective.
In addition this less valued housing placed in the middle of new communities where housing values range up to and above one million dollars no doubt devalueing them.
Solution:
Time to spread out communities instead of consolidate them in already established areas.
Increase buffer size from 20 ft boundries to 40 or 50.ft. minimum as other counties.
Locate workforce housing in the areas intended to accomodate the workers.
Adopt the Adequate Facilities Protection Ordinance as New Castle and Kent counties have. This ordinance would put all code infrastructure costs on the developers instead of we the taxpayers.
This is why building is so prevalent here as developers shy from areas with the AFPO (Kent & New Castle) to Sussex county knowing they are responsible for these costs.
...not on the backs of the taxpayers.How stupid are we?
