Tell the EPA to Deny Approval of Monsanto & Dow's New GMOs!

Despite the dangers that they could increase weed resistance for farmers, the USDA is set to approve new GMOs. Both Dow and Monsanto have proposed new GM crops that would be more resistant to their ever-increasingly toxic chemical blends of herbicides.

These would be no ordinary GM crops. Monsanto's newly developed soybeans and cotton resist the dangerously toxic herbicide Roundup Xtend -- an even nastier formula of the original Roundup spray! And Dow's new corn and soybeans resist glyphosate and 2,4-D. With the USDA poised to approve these dangerous new products, it seems like they're siding with big chemical rather than our public health.

But there's still a chance to halt the production of these new GMOs! the EPA is concluding its review of the herbicides in question just as the USDA will approve them. Call on the EPA to reject the use of these deadly herbicides and bring down Monsanto and Dow's new GMOs.

Dear Director Gina McCarthy,

I am submitting this comment in strong opposition to the new GMOs poised for approval by the USDA. Dow and Monsanto's new brands of GMOs will resist the most toxic of herbicides: Roundup Xtend, glyphosate and 2,4-D. Not only am I concerned for the health of our communities and surrounding environment, but these herbicides are creating a "superweed crisis". Both our famers and communities would be hard hit if you approve these herbicides and accompanying GMOs.

That's why I urge you to reject the new GMOs and herbicides from Monsanto and Dow.

Sincerely,
