Tricky Dick Thornton was one of the most exciting defensive backs to play Canadian Football and was a great character off of the field. Having spent 6 seasons in Toronto, he played defence, punted, threw a couple passes and even caught and ran the ball for a few TDs. He was a truly great player on both sides of the ball.
Surprisingly, Tricky is not a member of the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and even worse, he is not even listed as an All Time Argo.
As he has been recently diagnosed with lung cancer and now living in the Phillipines, I propose the Argos to fly Tricky Thornton in and honour him at halftime as an All Time Argo during the 2014 season.
It's long overdo and I hope fans of the Toronto Argos and of other CFL teams support this initiative.
We all wish Tricky the best on his road to recovery.
