Send Thanks to Greece for Upholding Ban on Dolphin Performances

After the decision to ban captive animal performances was recently challenged

by the Attica Zoological Park, the Greek parliament has overwhelmingly voted in favor

of upholding the ban. The Zoological Park, which exhibits a wide variety of exotic animals,

had tried to convince members of the parliament

to amend the ban because such performances are “educational”.

Articles 12 and 13 of Greece’s animal protection Law 4039/2012

expressly forbids the use of animals in recreational games, exhibitions, artistic or entertaining events.

Way to go Greece, it is the first step, second one is to release all cetaceans back to the ocean.
