This petition is for the vibrations that we have to deal with from all hours of the day and night. The vibrations start all hours and will go continously for days at a time. I have contacted Archer Daniels Midland and Burlington Northern with this issue and they want to blame this on construction at the site or the city working on streets. When you go to bed at night your bed should not be vibrating! This constant vibration is not healthy for a body to endure and this causes a lot of stress! With mostly slab homes in this Norwood Park area we have no basements to cut down on the vibrations.
The city of Lincoln also has a Noise Control Ordinance which also includes vibrations. Under the Policy 8.24.020 it reads
We have the right to and should be ensured an enviroment free from excessive sound and vibration that may jeopardize the health and welfare or safty of it's citizen's or degrade the quality of life. Compliance with this ordinance and to promote uniform noise and vibration standards.
