Walmart, reduce waste.

Walmart (ASDA in the UK) has a tremendous impact due to the scale of its worldwide operations.
Reducing waste is an important step in helping the environment.

Dear C Douglas Mcmillon,

We congratulate Walmart in it's efforts to reduce waste. For example, selling ugly or blemished fruit and vegetables; or demanding suppliers remove unnecessary packaging.

We urge you remove all unnecessary packaging from your products, and insist your suppliers do the same.

We urge you to use all paper, cardboard, and food waste to generate electricity as is currently being started by a supermarket here in the UK  http://www.care2.com/greenliving/supermarket-uses-expired-food-as-its-new-power-source.html

We also urge Walmart to install solar panels and wind turbines on top of all it's stores worldwide; and to install batteries that are charged up by any excess electricity and used for when the solar/wind/biofuel sources aren't generating enough power for your stores.

We also urge you to convert all your lorry transport fleet to a mixture diesel and biodiesel  (which can be produced from waste from your meat suppliers, or from collecting waste/used cooking oil from your customers.)

We urge you to implement those changes in all your operations and subsidiaries worldwide.

Thank you for taking time to read our petition,

Yours Faithfully,

The Undersigned
