Call for the Animal Foundation to Reinstate Status Updates on Individual Animals

In 2012 the Animal Foundation killed 24,805 dogs and cats. Through aggressive marketing of the dogs and cats there, groups and individuals are hoping to help lower that number. The lives of the animals entrusted into Animal Foundation's care depend on open and honest communication with the Las Vegas community. Only through a community partnership can the Animal Foundation and the community take effective steps to lessen the killing of healthy or treatable animals simply because they are homeless. Keeping the outcome of individual animals a secret betrays the public trust and goodwill and gives the perception that Animal Foundation has something to hide. Moreover it gives the Animal Foundation the ability to kill with impunity and not reveal who or why they are killing. We the undersigned call for more openness and transparency from the Animal Foundation by reinstating status updates on individual animals.
