The teenage years can be some of the toughest as we're growing up. It's the time we try beginning to assume adult actions and responsibilities; we rebel against authority, because we have all the answers; peer pressure to fit in, use drugs and alcohol, or have sex confuses us; and the parent(s) that have always been there guiding us in the past no long understand us.
Talk to your teenager. Open a dialogue. Don't get angry or judgmental. Talk about the issues and problems. Ignoring or not discussing problems won't make them go away. You don't have to have all the answers. You just need to listen, and provide love and guidance.
Pledge to help your (or a) teenager through troubled times by being there to talk!
