The Fire Dept. of Holley, New York is sponsoring a squirrel massacre. This is a picture of a squirrel who was shot and left for dead. Body parts were shot off. She suffered horribly and crawled to the home of a rehabber who had raised her. That person had to kill this poor squirrel to stop the suffering. Young children will be allowed to shoot squirrels and make $50.00 per kill. There are also guns for prizes. This is the 7th annual, and is being called a family event! This time of year there are babies in the nests, and killing the mothers leaves tiny babies to starve to death slowly in fear and cold. This is a brutal thing to be teaching children to do. Don't we have enough violence in this country? There are prizes for the most murdered in the form of money and guns. Firemen should be saving lives, not showing kids how to kill. Please Governor Cuomo, cancel this event. As you are probably aware by now, thousands of people in this country and many other countries have heard about it and are horrified. There are so many other ways to raise money.
