Demand an End to Barbaric Fur Harvesting Contests in New York State!

  • by: Sarah Jones
  • recipient: New York State Legislatures

These fur hunts are immoral because the animals are only being shot for their fur and nothing else. The targeted animals are foxes, coyotes and bobcats. These animals are lured in via means of electronic devices and then shot to their deaths! Fur hunts have been banned in California and the same thing needs to be done in New York State!

The most recent hunt took place on January 9-11, 2015 and was hosted by the Independent Fur Harvesters of Central New York. The name of the hunt is the Bob Evans Memorial Predator Culling Hunt. This competition awards six points for each bobcat killed, three points for each coyote and one for each fox. 23 foxes and six coyotes were killed during this two-and-a-half-day event.

Support Senate Bills #4074 & #03661 to ban wildlife killing contests in New York State!!
