Keep the Click network under local control.

Tacoma Public Utilities is considering leasing the Click Network to Wave Broadband. Investment bankers want your Click! Network. Shall we keep cable ownership local or sell to a corporate conglomerate? The Tacoma City Council will decide.

Net-Venture believes that TPU’s proposal is contrary to the interests of Tacoma metro area residents.
• Investment bankers are responsive to shareholders first and customers second.
• After the two-year softening period, your cable bill is at the mercy of the moneychangers.
•Will they be interested in helping low income residents get connected to the Internet?
•Without ties to the community will they support our schools’ extended learning programs?
•Will they offer the level of service a local company can?
•Will you have to deal with another corporate conglomerate with an overseas support center?
•Will they continuously raise rates like the other “big guy”?

We think there are better choices. Keep the Click network under local control. There is another bid for the lease from local a company, but it’s not being considered.  Net-Venture wants to keep the City's network that we helped build, local.

You paid for it. It’s yours. Why hand it off to a company not vested in the community?

WE NEED YOUR HELP! PLEASE TAKE ACTION!  SIGN THE PETITION!

Thank You,
