We the undersigned recognize that there is injustice in this nation, when the police are accused of crimes. Police in this nation are literally getting away with murder. The escape the consequences of these crimes because their crimes are investigated by the police departments that they work for, and taken to the Grand Jury by prosecutors that they deal with in their jobs.
Because of these obstruction to justice in this nation, we must insist that the Department of Justice create an organization whose sole purpose is to investigate and prosecute cases of abuse, brutality, and murder by the police, to prevent the obvious injustice of the conflict of interest inherent in the investigation performed by the Internal Affairs department of the local police departments. This organization must be formed of federal officers, experienced attorneys, and objective citizens with no connection to law enforcement, in order to create an effective organization to bring justice to the people of this nation. The people of this nation have a right to be protected from the abuses of police officers who unjustly harm the people of the United States...
This petition is demanding that the president and attorney general protect the people of this nation by creating an outside organization to investigate and prosecute police involved in violence against the people. The internal affairs investigatopns are ineffective and biased, and seldom present justice for the people.
