Protect the Wolves

The gray wolf is an amazing creature who live in packs. They are not hostile animals but through years of ignorance and misinformation the wolves were close to extinction until they were added to the endangered species list. Now the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are rethinking their decision on keeping the wolf on the endangered species list and are on the path to remove them from that list.
In Yellowstone National Park the wolves were once removed from there which led to a devastating effect on the ecosystem. The removal of the apex predator caused elk's population to increase dramatically which led to the scarcity of the plantation. This forced the reintroduction of the gray wolf into Yellowstone to help re-balance the ecosystem and it worked! The wolf helped manage the number of elk which helped plantation grow and Yellowstone once again became a green park. Although the wolves worked with hunters to control the elk population some people still hate the wolves and want them all gone dead or alive.
The gray wolf is considered a nonessential experimental population meaning that the wolf will not become extinct if hunted and taken off the endangered species list. Wyoming has a total of about 1,600 total wolves as of the end of 2013. In Wyoming alone they have sold about 6,000 wolf hunting permits allowing a person to hunt up to five wolves each. Although their numbers have increased enough to maintain their existence if they are hunted as much as they are being hunted for any longer they will almost certainly become extinct and the same negative effects that Yellowstone experienced will certainly happen again. Please Sign this petition to keep the wolves on the endangered species list and also to make the government take the illegal hunting of the wolves seriously and enforce hunting laws.
