Boycott Carnival Cruise Lines

I am a South Florida resident who recently learned that 1000s of gallons of contaminated water from 5 of Carnival Cruise ships have been dumped illegally over the past 8 years. I call on President Jan Swartz to step down. Carnival Cruise Lines must now go beyond mere compliance with federal environmental law to regain our trust. They must revise their corporate mission and adopt a 'triple-bottom-line' approach to their business model, one that values social and environmental concerns equally with profit.

Jan Swartz, President

Ted Arison, Founder

I hereby call on your company, Carnival Cruise Lines to formally and publically adopt a 'triple-bottom-line' approach to your corporate mission and business model which guarantees that social and environmental responsibilities be held equal to profit motive in every aspect of your business operation. A company of your size must be a leader in the cruise line industry and set the standards upon which other cruise lines follow.

The felonies you have committed for your 8-year violation of federal environmental law and attempted cover up on 5 of your ships have given me no choice but to boycott your company, until I am convinced that you become environmental stewards, rather than polluters.
