We want carts on the 3rd, 4th, 8th, and 16th

Ladies and Gents, many of us think the invention of the golf cart ranks right up there with the invention of Chardonnay or the self-opening beer can. Yet, there are many holes on our lovely MCC course that we are not permitted to drive on. In my opinion, I think we can increase the number of cart accessible holes without doing damage to the course or ourselves. As you may know, both the 3rd and the 16th are opened to carts on SMGA days when we host other clubs. So obviously safety factors are not involved. Same with the 8th which is as flat as the 1st, 13th and 14th. I suggest that we petition the Golf Committee to open those holes, 3, 4, 8, 16 and the 12th from 100 yards in to carts.
The new GPS system on the club's carts should allow the pro shop to adequetly monitor carts on the course so that folks won't be rolling down hills and dales. While a increase in maintainence cost might ensue as a result of opening these holes to carts, I think we can agree that the increase in member satisfaction will offset any increase.
I'd like to present this petition to the golf committee at its November meeting.
If you have any questions or comments please let me know. Petition We ask the Golf Committe to put on its November agenda an item to consider opening the 3rd, 4th, 8th, 16th and part of 12th to carts on days hen carts are permitted on the course. As you may know, both the 3rd and the 16th are opened to carts on SMGA days when we host other clubs. So obviously safety factors are not involved. Same with the 8th which is as flat as the 1st, 13th and 14th. Thank you for your attention. The undersigned MCC members.
