Stop the Camel Parade at South Shields. Animals should NOT be used for entertainment.

Its that time of year again where animals are used in entertainment.

Darlington no longer holds the Penguin Parade or have live reindeers, due to protests and a petition, so lets also help stop this parade.

There is going to be a Camel Parade in South Shields, on 2nd December.

This so wrong, sending out the wrong message about animals and how they are expected to perform as entertainment.

Noisy crowds, lights, fireworks.....

The North East has the worst animal cruelty statistics in our country and this is down to education and how we treat our animals.

Please sign my petition now to demand that camels are not paraded through the busy town but are left in peace. If enough people sign, the council will see that this is a cruel use of animals that should be stopped.

Please email customerhelp@southtyneside.gov.uk
and voice your disgust at this parade.

Please also voice your opinion on their Facebook event, thanks.

South Tyneside Council, many many people object to animals performing in front of noisy crowds.

Please ban this parade.

Update #16 years ago
Just to let you know that this petition was delivered to the council back in November, but they still went ahead with the parade :(

If animals are used in your own town's events, you can make your own petition on Care2.
