END THE DIVISIVE POLITICS IN NANDOM NOW!

Politics is a tool that should be use to provide pragmatic and workable development for the people within the political environment in which the politics are run. It ensures democracy and free speech unlike the dictatorship that does not permit certain participation of the local folks not to talk of free speech. The politics today in Ghana and transcending to the Nandom Constituency is something undesirable. I have for the last couple of years sad back and observed with keen interest how the politics of Nandom are being conducted especially the 2008 and particularly the 2012 presidential and Parliamentary elections. These elections saw the degrading of our tradition , culture, social discipline, respect for elders and so on and so forth. They were characterize by assaults both physically and verbally which does not add up to our principles and values as a people in Nandom. Those with the power uses the power to their advantage neglecting the masses which are the reasons the power was given causing distresses and depressions in the people to rebel against any resistance to earn their livelihood. Nothing good is also appreciated by the opposing side because they want those having the power to be disliked by the people to give them points for power to be given to them causing the entire environment to be chaotic. We want to see brothers and sisters of Nandom to be able once more time to join hands, dine and do things in common as was the case some years ago but not the current situation where brothers and sisters see themselves as enemies or adversaries because of their political color. We want to see the political heads and stakeholders join hands, lead the people in an exemplary manner that all can follow to ensure that we all come together at all times to address issues that confront us a people more united and coordinated than what we are experiencing now where programs and developments by one political tradition is completely ignored and disassociated by the other political group and vice versa. We want development in our locality devoid of acrimony where people can freely access such development projects or amenities without being restricted. We want to see politics of ideas, objectiveness and serenity, civility, innovation, and diversity to ensure that we objectively elect people who can objectively manage the affairs of the people without any inducement in any form as is the case currently where motorbikes, money, food, drinks, T-shirts and other paraphernalia are distributed by the contesting candidates as a way of unduly inducing the electorate to vote in a certain pattern. Those in positions must. Not use their positions to suppress the will of the people. Voters must not be intimidated whatsoever to ensure that we all live peacefully after the elections.
