People should sign this petition to make Morda Road safer.
Morda Road is used on a regular basis for many pedestrians, locals from the village of Morda use this road to walk to town as Morda Road is the most direct road into Oswestry.
School kids use this road twice a day to walk to and from The Marches School, just before Oswestry.
This road needs to be made safe for pedestrians.
In 2012, there was a hit and run in Morda where a girl gained serious injuries and spent a lot of time recovering from her injuries.
Although a pedestrian crossing and speed bumps were put in place by Morda C.E Primary School, there needs to be speed restrictions in place on the stretch of road from the village of Morda to The Marches School, just before Oswestry, to slow people down as it is a 30mph road which drivers are unaware of as there is no longer a sign showing it as a 30mph road.
Most recently, a neighbour of mines car got wrote off when somebody crashed into the back of his parked car outside his house, the driver drove off from the scene.
Another common, but sad occurance, is pets getting run over on this road which has happened recently right outside my house, leaving owners devasted.
If there was something in place to slow drivers down, this road would be much safer.
A driver would stand more chance of stopping if something or someone was to get run over, and that someone or something would stand a better chance of surviving.
