CGHS 60th Anniversary PepRally

Central Gwinnett High school is celebrating its 60th Anniversary. Formerly, every Friday on homecoming week, we have had a Pep Rally to get the student body and teachers excited about the festivities later in the day: The homecoming parade and game. However, this year we were denied to have a pep rally. We are all about tradition this school year, but this denial goes against what we call “tradition.” Additionally, it is ironic that we were denied a pep rally on the very important homecoming week, but we had a pep rally out of nowhere 2 weeks ago with no special occasion. In conclusion, their should be a pep rally on the Friday of homecoming week not only because it is homecoming week but also because of the tradition that we have been holding highly with the 60th anniversary of the Home of the Black Knights. We bleed our black and we bleed our gold, and whatever happens, back to the Castle the Black Knights go. As Jean Jaures once mentioned, “Tradition does not mean to look after the ash, but to keep the flame alive.” We need to not only look after the Black knight flame, but we need it to grow stronger!
