Demand an end to the killing of stray dogs in Serres Municipal Kennel

Stray dogs are packed in the municipal Kennel of Serres in Northern Greece. The Mayor is making public statements on television that the answer to the stray dog problem is killing them - because according to him this is common practice in all civilized European countries !!! The employees of the municipality are killing and throwing dogs in the garbage bins, sometimes even burning them.
This July an employee was found guilty in court for beating two dogs to death and burning their bodies. During December 2013 150 dogs died of various diseases during only 45 days.
The goal is to let the Mayor and his staff know that these practices are neither civilized or acceptable and they have to change their treatment of animals starting TODAY together with a public apology on their behalf

The 2000+ signatures that have been gathered will be send to the local animal welfare shelter and conveyed properly to the local authorities. The public protest is scheduled for Sunday 13 November. lets hope it will be the starting point for better treatment of animals in the area.

There is a public protest scheduled for November 13th in Serres. Lets share the petition and have as much signatures as possible at hand in order to deliver to the Mayor's office
