Because my Nan lay on the floor bleeding from a serious head injury for 2 hours waiting for an ambulance and family and friends were advised that it was a busy night and there was nothing the ambulance service could do but wait! More reources and provisions are needed asap to prevent this happening to anyone else.

I would like ambulance services reviewed in Clacton on Sea area. My Nan lay on a cold floor for 2 hours waiting for an ambulance on 15th March 2013 after a fall outside Clacton Golf Club. She was bleeding from a serious head injury and needed urgent attention yet her friends who were constantly on the phone to them were told that it was a busy night and that one would be along shortly. First response and the police helped to keep her comfy but she needed an AMBULANCE. Where were they? Why weren't they there in her hour of need. An ambulance did drive past but when they rang back to say it had driven past the incident they were told it had been diverted to a more important heart attack!!!!. My Nan deserved a quick respoinse time. Every second of her lying there was crucial to her recovery. She unfortunetly had to be taken to Colchester and then moved to Romfor Neuro ITU unit at Queens. We had to make the worst decision of our lives to turn all machines off as she had suffered a massive brain heomorrage and would be very severely disabled if kept alive. 2 hours is unacceptable for anyone to wait for an ambulance. it is a disgrace that resources are not available and I wish that something be done to increase ambulance services and staff in this area. I am fearful for us all in Clacton on Sea area and surrounding areas as this is a very frightening state of our service. We need to stand up and be counted. We must be heard. This could be your family next. HELP us to raise awareness and make a difference. HELP to change services in this area PLEASE!!!!!.
