Demand and end to freight Brokers, and end to the stealing of money from carriers, Now

I speak for every Driver who has his Trucking Authority. For years the Department of transpotations has done not one thing to help Carriers out from being taken advantage of by these large brokerage companies. Since no one has done anything to protect carriers these brokers get by with stealing everyday. their are no laws in place to stop them. Detention pay they lie and say they will pay and the time you get your load pay you find out they robbed you out of cash they owed you for sitting four days waiting on a load they told the carrier was ready to pick up. dention pay use to be 600.00 a day 400.00 to the truck and 200.00 a day to the owner. Today they offer 150.00 a day. thats nothing when most Carriers have 1200.00 to 1600.00 a month insurance payments and other over head. The carrier has to obey all laws set by DOT and we have to make sure that all loads are delivered on time everyday. Its time for the Goverment to step in and place laws that protect the Carrier from Brokers. The Broker should have to show the Carriers the true amount of money the shipper is paying for every load. Detention pay should by law be set at 600.00 aday and paid to the Carrier before they leave the shippers docks. Fuel surcharges should be paid to the Carrier from the Goverment and the broker should never have control of that money ever. Any freigh Brokerage who changes the load pay during transit shall have theyre license pulled for 90 day the first time and the second time taken away for good. Laws should protect the Carrier when the broker sends a Carrier to and unsafe place that damage the carrier truck. the broker shall be reliable for damage along with the shipper as well. Its time the Goverment steps in and helps protect these Carriers from brokers stealing every penny they can!!!
