This petition is so very important so that we may return to our classes in Spring Branch and not have to travel furrther, spend more gas and deal with that horrendous Galleria traffic anymore.

By principle, we should have access to the same quality education at the Spring Branch campus as we do at the West Loop campus.

Please sign the petition as soon as you can.

We, the undersigned students of HCC Spring Branch A+ Class #57230, hereby petition Mr. Tom Haymes, Director of Technology & Instructional Computing & HCC, and state:

Although the Mission of HCC is to function as an "public institution of higher eduction offering HIGH-QUALITY affordable education for academic advancement" we are currently "compelled" to attend classes at the HCC WEST LOOP campus, as a result of the INFERIOR-QUALITY learning tools at the HCC Spring Branch campus.

As you know, the A+ class requires "hands-on" instruction in installation and support of hardware and software that is, unfortunately, not available for us at the Spring Branch campus, as result of the antiquated and inadequate computer supplies at the Spring Branch A+ Classroom.

For this reason, the entire class unanimously agreed to bear the hardships of: (i) leaving our homes and jobs earlier, (ii) extra gas costs, and (iii) dealing with the stress and strain of driving from the Spring Branch area to deal with the horrendous "Galleria" traffic conditions.  Nevertheless, we are hereby committed to succeed in our academic pursuits at all reasonable costs.

However, we hope and pray that HCC will be as committed to our academic success as we are by providing the following learning tools needed for us to remain at the Spring Branch campus, while eliminating our burdens of traveling to the West Loop campus.

1.  Two (2) Desktop Computers with the following minimum specifications:
     (A)  3.2 to 3.8 GHz  / 64 Bit CPU Processer with:
             (1) DDR4, 16 GB RAM;
             (2) 256 GB SSD (solid state drive);
             (3) PCIe and PCIx16 ports, and
             (4) 3.0 USP ports

      (B)  Anything less than the above-mention specs would, more than likely, adversely affect our learning process by delaying the installation, uninstalling, troubleshooting and other multi-faceted functions needed to learn how to support Windows 7 & 8 in a time-sensitive, multi-student, classroom environment.

2.  Rearrangment of the classroom environment so that our backs are not facing the instructors, and so that our PC monitors are facing the teacher and the whiteboard; and a

3.  Lockable storage cabinet to securely store these costly computers and related components (the current cabinet lock is broken).

In conclusion, your timely response to this petition is most appreciated so that we may return to our Spring Branch classroom as soon as possible, while eliminating the current burdens of traveling to the West Loop campus, when we all live in the Spring Branch area.
