Should CU Boulder Postdoctoral Researchers have affordable housing?

Without affordable housing, it will be difficult to retain talented and skilled postdoctoral researchers on the University of Colorado Boulder campus. This year, University of Colorado Boulder Graduate and Family Housing has proposed a new lease contract stipulation where postdoctoral researchers will be limited to a two-year lease. On-campus housing serves as a cost-effective and meaningful way for researchers to find community, resources and support while conducting crucial research in laboratories and different challenging environments. Since postdoctoral positions are not on par with faculty salaries, and can range anytime between two and five years, disregarding the importance of housing for these positions can adversely affect work productivity and personal-family stability. Please support the demand to retain affordable housing for postdoctoral researchers!
