Sebastian Gorka is a senior counter-terrorism adviser to President Trump. A frequent spokesperson for the White House on news shows, his primary role appears to be pushing for a ban on Muslim immigration, and restricting travel to the United States from Muslim-majority countries.
But, as Gorka soars to prominence in the Trump Administration, there is a grave and growing concern at his alleged ties to a Hungarian far-right group the U.S. State Department lists as being under the direction of the Nazi Government of Germany during World War II.
Gorka refuses to deny or disavow any connections with the Historical Vitezi Rend organization, including whether he is a member. And the White House stubbornly refuses to respond to questions about any ongoing association between Gorka and Historical Vitezi Rend.
As an immigrant himself, Sebastian Gorka may have broken U.S. law and be subject to deportation.
If Gorka is a member of the organization, as some Historical Vitezi Rend leaders allege, and he did not disclose this on his application for U.S. citizenship, he can be ejected from the United States for lying and providing false information.
According to one media outlet, the State Department Foreign Affairs Manual specifies that members of the Historical Vitezi Rend are presumed to be inadmissible to the country under the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Members of Congress are now demanding the White House come clean on Gorka's suspicious connections -- and remove him from his right-hand position as a senior adviser to President Trump and the Trump Administration.
As one prominent member of Congress from New York recently wrote to President Trump:
If he does, in fact, have ties with the Historical Vitezi Rend, I hope that you would have no place for someone who shares that organizations offensive views in your Administration.
Please join me in demanding the White House and President Trump fire Sebastian Gorka immediately. We cannot afford to have even a whiff of collusion with extreme right hate groups at the highest levels of our government.
