Stop Delaying Common Sense Energy Efficiency Rules

  • by: Andrew M

Trump's Department of Energy is standing in the way of common sense energy efficiency rules proposed by the Obama Administration. These rules would save consumers and businesses alike upwards of $24 billion and slash carbon dioxide emissions by a staggering 292 million tons by expanding energy efficient standards to power supplies, walk-in coolers and freezers among other industrial appliances.

They are good for the environment and our bottom line. The Trump administration says their implementation was halted because they need to be more closely studied. Yet, similar rules have actually been in effect for home appliances since the Reagan era. What's there to study?

Secretary of Energy Rick Perry once swore to abolish the department he now heads. We must send a message to him and the rest of the Trump Administration that smart and sound energy policy that protects us and the environment is key to moving America forward.

Please sign this petition and ask President Trump and Secretary of Energy Rick Perry stop standing in the way of common sense energy standards and allow these standards to go into effect today.

When it comes to the environment we don't have time to waste.

US Secretary of Energy, Richard Perry ;

It’s time to put the health of our citizens in front of politics. The standards your department is delaying will help keep tons of greenhouse gases out of the environment and keep billions of dollars in our pockets. Please don’t wait to take action and move forward with the implementation of these common sense standards today.
