Save Library Founded by Mark Twain

The Kensal Rise library in London was founded by author Mark Twain in 1900 to improve a poor neighborhood by providing free reading materials to the community. Since then, it has been a resource for children and adults in the neighborhood where it is located.

The library was closed last year because of budget cuts. Recently, community members blocked the library doors when workers came to remove the books from the shelves. Help save this historic library founded by one of literature's most revered authors!

Dear Council Members of London,

We are petitioning for the preservation of the Kensal Rise library, founded by Mark Twain in 1900. This library is both an historic landmark and an essential resource for today's reading and learning community.

Closing libraries because of budget cuts won't solve any problems in the long run-- in fact, it may create more problems in the form of illiteracy and fewer educational opportunities.

It's time to reopen the Kensal Rise library!
