Walmart should not sell ANY tattoo equiptment

It has been brought to my attention as a tattoo shop owner along with fellow licensed tattoo artists that Wal-Mart has been or is more recently selling tattoo equipment. Please note most to all licensed artists go to a professional retailer for their products used in a shop. Most to all of these professional retailers require proof of a license and shop location along with the verifications from the owners.

Why is it wrong for Wal-Mart to be selling tattoo machines? I'll tell you. For starters almost each and everyone of these people. buying these machines are going to ruin other peoples skin, or even their own. With that being said depending on how bad they come out will most likely have to be covered by someone professional costing an easy $200 to cover it. Or for some, laser treatments might be an only option if it seems to much to cover with another tattoo. Right there the lasering alone for one session could cost hundreds of dollars for something that for one day seemed fun but a total regret the next. To the person buying a tattoo machine at Wal-Mart whom doesnt have a clue about anything a licensed artist has had to go through to obtain these PRIVILEGES! Because it IS a privilege to tattoo someone not a right, those machines can easily be ripped out of your hands as easy as it was for you to obtain them. Thanks to Wal-Mart! ** For all the certifications a licensed artist has to have, and years put in for experienced needed just to get licensed to give someone a tattoo the right way in a sterile environment . What is the absolute reason why Wal-Mart feels the need to sell tattoo machines and equipment. All i have to say and I hope anyone reading this feels the same way, but SHAME on you Wal-Mart.For supporting unlicensed people to be able to ruin other peoples skin, cause infections from being unsanitary because they dont know the proper steps that could cause someone to have to go to the hospital or just have a jacked up tattoo! By Wal-Mart selling machines and equipment to any joe-shmoe on the street they are basically saying a big f.u to all the licensed artists who have put all their hard work into getting certifications, licenses and doing what they have to to put bread on the table the right way for their families. AND LASTLY again, for those buying those machines unlicensed with the hopes to become a tattoo artist one day, just know it only takes one person to call the police, board of health, for you to never in your life be able to get your license, because you will be BLACKLISTED. Please do it the right way, get involved in a school or signfor an apprenticeship. And for everyone else PLEASE please sign this petition to stop Wal-Mart from selling tattoo equipment. You wouldnt want your childs friend to get one and tattoo your child if they wanted one. Wouldn't you prefer them or even yourself to go to someone who has actually dedicated their time to making sure you get what you want done right the first time?
