LIFT RESTRICTIONS PREVENTING ROCKY THE BEAR FROM WORKING IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.

  • by: Randy Miller
  • recipient: California Fish and Game Commission

The California Fish and Game Commission will be holding a hearing to determine the fate of Rocky the Bear. Current restrictions prevent Rocky from working in TV and film in California, and keep him confined to the compound. The restrictions have been in place since April 22, 2008, the day of his fateful accident with Stephan Miller.

Rocky enjoys training and performing for people. It provides wonderful enrichment in his life. With the restrictions he cannot be in front of film crews or the public, an actively that he greatly misses.

Since the accident, he has been retrained not to wrestle, and new safety protocols have been put in place to keep Rocky and the crew safe. Rocky is insured and ready to work again, and the USDA has already cleared him to work on a national level. Now we just need to convince the state of California.

Rocky is a very sweet and curious bear. He continues to show love and affection towards his trainers. He loves getting out and working, and is always eager to learn new things through training. This enrichment is important to him, and it is very sad that he is being stopped from experiencing his favorite things.

Please help us fight for Rocky. His trainers and friends are hopeful that these restrictions will be lifted so Rocky can be happy performing again. We need your support.

Please support our cause so Rocky the Bear can get back to work and do what he loves to do!
