help save prairie dogs

  Dear Mayor,

When I saw the people across the street from my grandparents house putting carbon monoxide in the prairie dog dens and covering them up by putting the dirt on top so that it would kill them instantly. I wrote a letter about this before to you and never heard back from you.

Now today  I saw a new prairie dog on the east side of the canal on Yale and Estes. He is alone and I was wondering if he can be saved? Is there anything that you can possibly do to save him? Would you be able to move him/her to the designated habitat across the street to the west in the greenbelt area?

                                            Sincerely,

                                                Takia Anderson age:12

Update #110 years ago
I will pass your question on to our Community Resources Department. In the meantime, I did want to let you know that, because of an upcoming road Improvement project at Dartmouth and Kipling, there will a process called a "temporary relocation" of some prairie dogs on the SW corner.
This is obviously less severe than some of other measures, and vastly preferable to what could otherwise happen to them during construction.

Thanks,

Bob Murphy
Mayor,
Thank all of your guys help. Love Takia
