Put an end to opinionists presenting themselfs as journalists.

Our media has been over ran with opinionists. Our 24hr news channels are the most obvious yet the problem exists within the entire journalists Community.

This petition is to ask President Obama to request Congress to work on legislation that would require all programs that speak about or report on issues within our country and the world, to specify when going to and from each commercial break and at the beginning and end of the programing that "the views expressed are strictly opinions based on our interpretation of the facts."

We need to separate programing that is satire in nature when presenting themselves as news outlets. This should be incorporated in one way or another to all forms of broadcast including print.

In my city we have two news papers one liberal and one conservative. I'm sorry but a journalist is biased and reports the news. They do not or should not cater to a specific audience's opinions only topics depending on the overall subject one focuses on as a news outlet.

News is NOT entertainment and should not be viewed as such. Our media structure today has created so many problems within our government on top of the regular problems that exists when those within a party has platforms that differ from the other.

The medias drive for ratings has put and end to good ol' fashion journalism and the general public can only form their own opinions based on distorted facts by opinionists posing as journalists.
