Stop This Racist Rape Porn Series

Online porn purveyors MindGeek have hit a disgusting and terrifying new low, releasing "Border Patrol Sex," an appalling new web series in which fictional border patrol agents rape and abuse young migrant women in a twisted celebration of the horrifying sexual violence experienced by many women fleeing violence and poverty in their home countries on their way to the U.S.

According to Mic.com:

"MindGeek's series exploits and glorifies imagery associated with the vicious and systemic sexual assault of migrants. It's just as wrong as if they filmed pornography featuring subordinated African slaves or victims of wartime rape."

MindGeek is one of the most successful digital companies in the world, and its website touts its commitment to "responsible corporate citizenship, seeking to make a positive impact on the communities in which we work and live."

Promoting violence against women, racism, and xenophobia is irresponsible, insulting, and dangerous. Tell MindGeek to scrap "Border Patrol Sex" right now.

As someone who cares about stopping violence against women and ensuring basic human dignity, I strongly urge you to immediately scrap the web series "Border Patrol Sex" and terminate any one at your company who signed off on its licensing.

As Mic.com put it, the series "... exploits and glorifies imagery associated with the vicious and systemic sexual assault of migrants."

Such exploitation is deeply offensive, given the awful prevalence of sexual violence against women and girls making their way to the United States.

Again, from Mic.com: "A 2010 report by Amnesty International estimated that around 60% of migrant women and girls experience rape, while a 2006 study found that 13 of 90 detained migrant women in Iztapalapa reported being raped by some kind of state official — exactly like the ones depicted in Border Patrol Sex. According to migrant shelter directors interviewed by Fusion, the number of migrant women raped en route to the United States may be as high as 80%. "

MindGeek is one of the most successful digital companies in the world, and your website touts your commitment to "responsible corporate citizenship, seeking to make a positive impact on the communities in which we work and live."

Promoting violence against women, racism, and xenophobia is irresponsible, insulting, and dangerous. Please cancel this awful series immediately and hold accountable anyone in your company who licensed this awful content.
