Please sign and share this petition in an effort to speak volumes to the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) about preserving forest lands in Delhi, India and other surrounding areas. With current construction and improvement ideas, forests and their resident wildlife are suffering, such as the Mangar Bani located in Faridabad, Haryana. Without the help necessary from the NCRPB, all the natural beauty and necessary habitat for countless wildlife, these forest areas will be lost.

Environmentalists in Delhi, India are concerned about their forest lands in their country, especially the Mangar Bani in Faridabad, Haryana that is labeled as the "last virgin forest." Despite all efforts, court orders and guidelines so save this "sacred" forest, the Haryana government fails to recognize this beautiful area as a category of forest land that may soon vanish!

In recent years, this area has been targets for infrastructure projects, against all fears of nearby villagers who consider the area as sacred. But to prospective builders, the Mangar Bani is prime for "construction and improvement" with residential and commercial complexes. One of the environmentalists trying to claim this area as forest land and preserve it as such stated that "The authorities have been seeking permission for change in the land use of forest areas, as if the plains are exhausted for township planning."

Certain infrastructure companies want to deem the Mangar Bani area as agricultural land rather than forest land, making it easier to ascertain construction licenses, making local villagers very disturbed about these proposed "improvements" to the "sacred forest." An official from these villages state that "We don't cut a single tree, as we believe it will invite the wrath of the god."

Not only would wildlife lose their natural habitat, destruction of the Dhau trees would cause them to be extinct. As stated by a forest conservator, "Efforts to replant this species elsewhere have been unsuccessful. Even the neighboring Sariska tiger reserve doesn't have them, making Mangar Bani the only spot for future research related to this species." Additionally, Mangar Bani is recorded as having tremendous floral diversity, and its destruction will have serious consequences on the respiratory health of nearby areas including Delhi.

We implore your help in preserving the forest lands in this country, especially the targeted Mangar Bani, by signing and sharing this petition worldwide on all your media sites. Progress is not always the best option when it comes to destroying natural forestry and the wildlife that lives within, like the leopards who treasure their habitat! Environmentalists for the forestry state that "When these animals like the leopards, tigers, pythons, birds and other species try to reclaim their homes, they are either trampled in accidents on what are now roads, or captured and murdered on private farms that were once forests."

National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) - India Government Authorities - Demand that the Mangar Bani be proclaimed as special forest land while also protecting it and other forest areas from infrastructure projects. Do not demolish these lands just for the purpose of building residential and commercial areas. Preserve the areas for their unique and natural plant, trees and natural habitat for the many wildlife within. Destruction will cause certain trees to become extinct while also putting the animals in danger! Stop this "progress" by preserving all forest land, including the Mangar Bani and do not allow any construction!!
