I am a teacher in the state of Indiana. Today we had a shooting at a school not too far from where I teach, and less than 10 minutes from where my children attend school. As a teacher myself, I am given the greatest responsibility imaginable... ensuring the safety of my students. We are now living in a time where school shootings are occurring more and more frequently. We, the teachers, are expected to put ourselves in the line of fire to protect our students, but we are told that we are not allowed to do so to the fullest extent possible. The only way to most effectively manage an active shooter situation, is to be armed yourself. It is time for us to DEMAND that our ELECTED officials listen to our voices! It is time for we teachers to be trained, and armed! Please help me by signing this petition, which will be presented to elected officials if enough supported is generated.
