Common Core is the Obamacare of the Education Department.
Common Core is a new set of standards and assessments that school districts are implementing without parental knowledge or support. It is a political and academic experiment and the results will NOT be known for 10 years. There is absolutely no verifiable evidence for imposing this experiment on millions of students in America.
Common Core was developed by the Federal Government and the Constitution prohibits the Federal Government's control of education, including curriculum and instruction.
The standards were written in secret. They are not state lead or voluntary. Proponents claim that the standards are rigorous and internationally benchmarked, but they are mediocre, cover less information, and will lead to academic atrophy. Not a single K-12 educator with teaching experience was on the committee.
We need standards that are state and locally driven and most importantly, supported by teachers and parents!
We need to stop the Federal Government's intrusion of education.
