Wings Over the Rainbow, owned and run by Deborah Shell was the only safe haven over 100 birds have ever known. Deborah fed and watered these birds twice daily and has rehabilitated and rehomed many of these neglected parrots. The Humane Society of Greater Dayton on May 10, 2012 seized the birds. Many of these parrots have special needs, medications, and other necessary care that they require simply to live. Lacking knowledge about basic bird behavior and care, The Humane Society has wrongly taken these birds. Many of them were plucked, due to stress from their previous situations, and no they were not camera ready. But many of them had also improved greatly since the time they had first made it through WOTR's doors. This is a Sanctuary, and Deborah has dedicated her life to the well being of the parrots. These birds need us! They need the care, love and forever sanctum they deserve.
