After 35 years since his death, Mike Hailwood still draws a big crowd. Having been awarded Motorcyclist of the Millennium in 2000, he has since been awarded Greatest British Bike racer by MCN readers and just last year was voted the greatest of all time in a worldwide poll, beating the everyone from Barry Sheen, Surtees and Geoff Duke to the modern riders such as Valentino Rossi, by a big margin!
His heroic actions and antics, both on and off the track keep people coming back time and again. He has become not just a great man but a Legend! An Icon. A man by which all other motorcycle riders and racers set their mark. A true British gentleman in every way.
So, please join the cause and help us make Mike the first person to officially receive a Posthumous Knighthood. He deserves it.

We, the public, fans, family and many others, would like to put Mike S.B. Hailwood MBE GM forward for the first Posthumous Knighthood. We all believe that his actions in both Motorcycle and car racing have earned him the the title of "The greatest of all Time" or The GOAT. His nomination for the Hall of Fame this year will help towards keeping his memory alive, but the first Posthumous Knighthood would secure him in the annuals of history forever.
