The Shrine Circus is returning to Ontario, celebrating 251 years of animal abuse. As always, the Shriners will be forcing two elderly elephants from the Tarzan Zerbini Corporation to perform humiliating and painful circus tricks, that they have learned through negative reinforcement. When the animals are not in the circus ring, being whipped and jabbed with bullhooks, they are held in tiny parking lot pens surrounded by electric wire. They are forced to endure unbearable summer heat with little relief. Elephants normally use rivers, streams, mud pits and lakes to cool down in heat waves. At the circus they have nothing more than a water bucket.
Please come and speak out against this deplorable cruelty.
Leaflets and banner will be present, but all are encouraged to bring their own signs. Messages and photos MUST be non-graphic and family friendly! We are dealing with children and families who we are looking to educate on the horrible animal cruelty and public safety risks that come along with attending an animal circus. Please invite family and friends!
