Dear MGM, Netflix, or Disney,
While we thank MGM for the intention behind Stargate: Origins, it lacked the content that so many fans became attached to the shows that preceded it.
We, as fans, want to see what made us love those shows. From the interesting places to the people to the main characters and their trials and triumphs. We wanted to see the passion and humor and struggle to not just save the universe, but to show we, as The Fifth Race, would do it without going against our ideals and values.
We, as fans, learned with the characters, fought with them, felt with them, and we had a connection to the show that wasn't just a need to see space battles and firefights. We wanted to see what made those characters heroes and even family in our hearts.
However, we understand it is a daunting task to create what you probably never thought was a masterpiece (at least most of it) in our eyes.
We would like to see more of the following instead:
* Continuity from all three shows. Keep them all relevant and continue all three.
* Actual characters we know and love, even if recast.
*Places we know, not just Egypt and Abydos. Even if the show must be kept to bottle shows, for the most part, showing Stargate Command's and Atlantis's main rooms would be far more powerful and connect with both old and new fans more.
*Show us both familiar enemies and allies instead of resorting to the Nazis. Show us new system lords, a smarter Lucian Alliance, more wraith factions, the remaining Tok'Ra, and maybe even people from worlds we've explored and either helped or fought against. Perhaps even bring enemies and allies together to fight a larger war.
*Perhaps even combine real science with your own technobabble.
*Perhaps something new. Not everything has to be nostalgia. We want a continuation, not an aping or just a reference.
It is understood that such a revival is a huge undertaking. If effort on fans' part if asked to make this possible, here is another petition for that. no fan input is asked of this petition, we all merely thank you all for allowing us to create stories and art based on the Stargate series we were already given. We just want to see it continue instead of degrading itself.
