Keep the Coro open and sell the Town Hall, SLDC

  • by: John Brice
  • recipient: Ulverston Town Councillors

The Ulverston Town Council votes in April as to whether to keep the Town Hall open.
SLDC have already publicly stated that if the Town Council votes to do so then it will close the Coronation Hall to save money. Evidently some councillors are planning to vote to keep the Town Hall open which would mean the disastrous closing of the Coro. If you do not want this to happen, ACT NOW and contact your own town councillor to tell them your views, urging that they vote accordingly (after all, they are your representatives!).
You can find out who your local town councillor is on http://www.ulverstoncouncil.org.uk/councillors/
Please also email the Town Clerk on townhall@ulverstoncouncil.org.uk to ensure that they are aware of public opinion.
Don't let them close this valuable and fantastic venue which is used by so many people for a variety of events, coffee mornings, fund-raising, art exhibitions, theatre, concerts U3A etc. just remember how many people in the town benefit from the Coronation Hall. Then consider how many benefit from keeping the Town Hall open. Perhaps only the councillors themselves!
Please sign this petition NOW before it is too late.

We would all urge you to think carefully when you vote in April and do the right thing by the town, which is clearly to do everything in your power to keep the Coronation Hall open and thriving. Closing the Town Hall makes sense. The level of support for the Coro is overwhelming.
