Allow us to go to OUR cars during nutrition and passing period

The cars are our property. We are not school property. The school has neither the right to withhold our property nor keep us on school grounds against our will. This is kidnapping. If we wish to go to our cars, we should not be denied access to them or any other property of ours within them, i.e. Food, sweaters or school supplies.

As pursuant with Santa Barbara Unified School District regulatory code BP 5112.5 (http://www.sbunified.org/districtwp/wp-content/uploads/2000/01/BP5112.5.pdf), concerning open/closed campus, it is clearly stated that:

"Students shall not leave the school grounds at any other time during the school day without written permission of their parents/guardians and school authorities. Students who leave school or who fail to return following lunch without authorization shall be classified truant and subject to disciplinary action."

Technically, the parking lot is on campus, so the code would enact our ability to be present in the lot, weather in our cars or not, without being marked truant, assuming that students still attend classes on time.
