DEMAND A BAN ON ANIMAL TESTING FOR COSMETICS AND DRUGS

In Canada, millions of animals die because of being tested in factories for cosmetics and drugs each year. It is completely unethical, selfish and inhumane to force any animal to undergo a series of pain, suffering, distress and loneliness just for our beauty and our health. These factories cause a huge amount of pollution and cost a lot of money for something that does not even work. The food and drug administration has reported that 92 out of every 100 drugs that pass animal tests fail on humans. Furthermore, scientists have developed humane, modern and effective non-animal research methods, some including human-based micro-dosing, human-patient simulators and sophisticated computer modeling, that are way cheaper, faster and more accurate than animal tests. What do we have to lose? If we can pass a law, as did the European union in 2004, stating a ban not only for animal testing, but the sale of any company products that test on animals after the ban, then we can call Canada a good, smart and free country again.
