Demand Stronger Conviction than Littering for Slashing Puppies Throat

Please sign and share this petition to get this kid convicted of animal cruelty, not littering!! The laws are really screwed up in Missouri!  This 22-year old boy slashed the throat of two young puppies because he said they were sick; then he threw them in the creek as if they were a piece of trash.  Authorities discovered that it was a Kyle Busby who abused the animals but when he was picked up, he was charged with littering (for throwing the animals in the creek).  He was charged with animal cruelty or abuse, just littering.

Since when do people kill their pets if they are sick?  You get them the help they need to live and get better; if you can’t afford the care, give up the animal to your vet or humane society so they can get it medical care.  You don’t slash its throat and toss it in the creek or trash! If he were to abandon the puppies by the creek, he would have been charged with neglect but he kills them and get off with littering. However, the laws in Missouri states “[t]he killing of an animal by the owner thereof, the agent of such owner, or by a veterinarian at the request of the owner thereof” is perfectly legal. The various protections afforded to animals under Chapter 578 of Missouri’s law explicitly don’t apply to the killing of an animal by its owner.  This is absolutely absurd. 

There need to be some more severe laws and consequences throughout Missouri for the abuse of animals.  No one in that state seems to care about their well-being and something must change.  Obviously priorities in Missouri are not with the animals.  Please sign and share this petition to get this kid convicted of animal cruelty, not littering!  The laws must change to protect the animals!
