Oppose any proposal to ban dogs for Seattle public parks

Seattle usually ranks at the top of any list of dog friendly cities in the US, but if a proposal by the Seattle Boarrd of Parks passes, I doubt anyone will consider Seattle dog friendly any more.

But some local residents and businesses asked the Seattle Board of Park Commissioners to ban dogs from Westlake Park and Occidental Park even though dogs already have to be leashed in Seattle public parks, beaches, playgrounds, and athletic fields.

Citizens should have the right to take their leashed dogs in our public parks. Any attempt to ban dogs flies in the face of Seattle's reputation as a dog friendly city.
